If you've just bought or are about to sell
This is the moment when most people discover they need the certificate, usually in a hurry. At Ojoalvatio we also come from the real estate sector, so we know the timelines of a property sale and make sure the paperwork is ready on time, not whenever it happens to get done.
And while we're at it, we make sure your energy supply is properly contracted from the very first bill, instead of you being stuck for years with whatever default tariff you were given.
When is it mandatory?
It has been mandatory since 2013 in specific cases:
- Sale or rental — without it, you can face fines of up to €6,000.
- Applying for grants — it proves consumption before and after a renovation.
- Reducing consumption — the certificate itself suggests improvement measures.
- Renewal — valid for 10 years; it must be renewed once that period ends.
How much does it cost in the Canary Islands?
Between €65 and €100, depending on the size, location and type of property. [PENDING: real price to be charged]
Good news: registering the certificate in the Canary Islands is free, so you don't have to add any administrative fees to the budget.
