Contracted power optimisation in Tenerife: stop paying for what you don't use

Contracted power is the part of your bill you pay every month even if you don't switch anything on. If you have more contracted than you actually need, you're paying for thin air. We review it for free and tell you if you have too much, too little, or the right amount.

In 2026 this matters more than ever

This year's regulatory changes have pushed up the fixed part of the bill and given the power term more weight relative to consumption. In other words: the bill is heavier before you even use a single kilowatt.

For a business this really shows. Adjusting the power to the maximum your installation genuinely demands is, right now, one of the fastest ways to offset that rise.

How we adjust your power

  • We look at your real consumption curve, not what you were told when you signed up. The power you need is set by your peak demand, and that peak almost never matches what's on the contract.
  • We spot if you have too much power. It's the most common case: installations contracted years ago with an oversized safety margin, or businesses that changed equipment and never revisited the contract.
  • We check if you don't have enough. This happens too, and it's worse: if you fall short, the power control switch trips and your activity stops. Adjusting doesn't mean cutting blindly.
  • We review period by period. Business tariffs contract power by time band. It can be lowered during periods when you barely operate and kept where you need it.
  • We handle the change. We take care of the paperwork with the distributor.

Who this is for

  • Homes that contracted more power than they use and carry that extra cost every month.
  • Shops and restaurants with kitchens, cold rooms and climate control that have changed over the years.
  • Hotels and tourist apartments, where the real peak depends heavily on occupancy.
  • Residents' associations with lifts, garages, pools and common-area lighting.
  • Warehouses and industry on 3.0, 6.1 or 6.2 tariffs, where power is contracted by period and the room for adjustment is greater.

Frequently asked questions

What is contracted power?

It's the maximum amount of electricity you can use at once in your installation. It's paid every month as a fixed amount based on the kW contracted, and it's paid regardless of whether consumption is zero.

How do I know if I have more power than I need?

The clearest sign is that the power control switch has never tripped. Even so, the reliable way to know is to look at your hourly consumption curve, which the distributor records and which we have access to. That's where your real peak shows up.

How much can be saved by adjusting the power?

It depends on how many kW you have to spare and your tariff. The saving is fixed and permanent: it's not a temporary discount, it's no longer paying every month for something you don't use. We give you the exact figure for your case in the assessment.

How many times can I change my contracted power?

As a general rule, once every twelve months. That's why it's best not to guess: if you get it wrong, you have to wait a year to correct it.

What if I end up with too little and the power trips?

That's exactly what we avoid. It's adjusted to your installation's real peak with a reasonable margin, not the bare theoretical minimum. If the analysis shows you need the power you already have, we'll tell you and leave it as it is.

Does it cost anything to review the power?

No. The assessment is free and with no obligation, and if there's nothing to adjust, we'll tell you that too.
